Consumer ProtectionAttorney General Caldwell has pledged to focus intently on Consumer Protection and ways to help keep Louisiana’s Consumers better informed about the latest scams.
Consumer EducationThe best prevention to consumer fraud is education. The Consumer Protection Section offers consumer education programs designed to education Louisiana citizens through presentations, special events, publications and our website.
Here is some quick advice on how you can avoid being victimized by scams:
- Be wary of anything that sounds "too good to be true."
- Avoid high pressure sales tactics.
- Ask questions.
- Investigate offers made to you as a contest "winner."
- Check out price claims yourself.
- Ignore "once in a lifetime" offers.
