Please remember that Louisiana does not require the IRS Form 990 for annual registrations.

Charitable organization means a person who is or holds himself out to be a benevolent, civic, recreational, educational, voluntary, health, law enforcement, social service, philanthropic, fraternal, humane, patriotic, religious, or eleemosynary organization.

Under Louisiana law, charitable organizations that use a professional solicitor are required to register annually with the Louisiana Attorney General’s Office.

To learn more about charitable organization registration requirements, please refer to the More Resources section of this page.

If you have any questions regarding charitable registration requirements, please contact our Consumer Protection Section at 1-800-351-4889.
