A New Orleans resident has been booked into the Orleans Parish Prison on one count of pornography involving juveniles, announced Louisiana Attorney General Caldwell.

Agents arrested 25-year-old James Waidell Ernest of 1433 Southlawn Blvd. on Thursday following a joint investigation involving the Attorney General’s High Technology Crime and Fugitive Apprehension Units, Homeland Security Investigations, and the New Orleans Police Department.

Ernest is charged with violating a state law forbidding a person to produce, distribute, possess, or possess with the intent to distribute pornography involving juveniles. If convicted, he faces up to 20 years in prison.

To report suspected cases of Internet crime, contact the Attorney General’s High Technology Crime Unit at 1-800-256-4506.

Coming soon, the attorney's general office seeks to provide a mechanism by which to take online payments for collections.
