Acadiana High Wins LA LifeSmarts Competition

Attorney General Buddy Caldwell congratulates Acadiana High School on becoming LifeSmarts’ State Champions.

Acadiana High School, from Lafayette, defeated Watson’s Live Oak High School and Geismar’s Dutchtown High School in a quiz bowl tournament on March 8. The tournament, which tests high school students’ knowledge about consumer rights and responsibilities, is part of the LifeSmarts Ultimate Consumer Challenge Competition.

Acadiana High School will represent Louisiana at the National LifeSmarts Championship in Atlanta, GA from April 20 through April 23. The top eight highest scoring teams at the National LifeSmarts Championship will receive academic scholarships for college as well as additional prizes.

The event, held in conjunction with National Consumer Protection Week, was hosted by the Louisiana Attorney General's Office in Baton Rouge.
