AG Hosts Housing Panel

The Louisiana Attorney General’s Public Protection Division hosted a panel discussion called “Getting Your House in Order” on November 1, 2013, at the Claiborne Building in Baton Rouge. Various topics aimed at assisting first-time home buyers and current homeowners navigate the housing market were discussed, including mortgages, refinancing, foreclosure, financial literacy, legal aid, reverse mortgages and real estate industry tips.

Panelists were Blaine Grimes, Campus Federal; Greg Landry, Acadiana Legal Services; David Mckey, Coldwell Banker; and Brian Andrews, LSU College of Business. Nancy Boudreaux of the Office of Financial Institutions gave a presentation on how to avoid investment scams.

Public Protection Director Sanettria “Sam” Pleasant served as moderator, and Deputy Director Deidre Robert welcomed the participants.

Coming soon, the attorney's general office seeks to provide a mechanism by which to take online payments for collections.
