Attorney General Buddy Caldwell congratulates Anacoco High School on becoming LifeSmarts’ State Champions.

Anacoco High School, from Vernon Parish, defeated Acadiana High School—last year’s state champs-- in a quiz bowl tournament on March 14. The tournament, which tests high school students’ knowledge about consumer rights and responsibilities, is part of the LifeSmarts Ultimate Consumer Challenge Competition.

Anacoco High School will represent Louisiana at the National LifeSmarts Championship in Orlando, April 26-29. The highest scoring teams at the National LifeSmarts Championship will receive academic scholarships for college as well as additional prizes.

The event, held in conjunction with National Consumer Protection Week, was hosted by the Louisiana Attorney General's Office in Baton Rouge.

Coming soon, the attorney's general office seeks to provide a mechanism by which to take online payments for collections.
