Two Arrested in Baton Rouge for Internet Crimes Against Children

BATON ROUGE, LA – Attorney General Jeff Landry’s Cyber Crime Unit (CCU) has arrested two men in Baton Rouge for child pornography, including one suspect on 150 counts.  

“My office is committed to making Louisiana a safer place,” said General Landry. “We will continue to do all that we legally can to bring child predators to justice.”

John Opperman, 34 of Baton Rouge, was arrested on 150 counts of Sexual Abuse Images/Videos of children. He was arrested and booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Jail following a joint investigation between General Landry’s CCU, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI), Homeland Security Investigations (HSI), Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), the Louisiana State Police (LSP), and the Baton Rouge Police Department (BRPD). 

Michael Gonzales, 25 of Baton Rouge, was arrested on one count of Sexual abuse Images/Videos of children. He was also arrested and booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Jail following a joint investigation between General Landry’s CCU, the FBI, HSI, the LSP, and the BRPD.
