3 out of 4 teens involved in carjacking of District Attorney Jason Williams plead guilty to armed robbery

Three out of the four teens involved in two separate carjackings in New Orlenas in October of 2023, one involving Orleans Parish District Attorney Jason Williams and his mother, and another involving a young woman, pled guilty as charged today.

Dijohn Curtis, Amajha Curtis, and Santana Gilmore, pled guilty to three counts of armed robbery. 

It happened at Orleans Parish Criminal Court Section H, with Judge Camille Buras.

All four of the teens were set to go to trial on Monday, however three pled guilty today instead. 

The last remaining co-defendant, Ahmad Seals, did not plead guilty today, and is set to go to trial on October 27. 

ā€œI’d like to extend my gratitude and appreciation to the New Orleans Police Department and Louisiana State Police for their diligent work on this case. I truly believe we are seeing a turn in the tide when it comes to crime because of this partnership,ā€ said Attorney General Liz Murrill. 

New Orleans Section Chief and Assistant Attorney General Daniel Smart and Assistant AG Carmen Gealogo prosecuted the case on behalf of our office. 

The three are also set to be sentenced on October 27.
