AG Murrill's Louisiana Bureau of Investigation arrests Breaux Bridge man for Sexual Abuse of an Animal and Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material

Agents with Attorney General Liz Murrill's Louisiana Bureau of Investigation arrested a man from Breaux Bridge for sexually abusing an animal and possession of child sexual abuse material.

56-year-old Kerwin Paul Theriot, of Hammock Lane in Breaux Bridge, as arrested for violating:

  • 4 counts of LA R.S.14:81.1 Child Sexual Abuse Material (Felony)
  • 21 counts of LA R.S.14:89.3 Sexual abuse of an animal (Felony)

Agents initially got a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

This arrest was a result of a joint investigation between the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation Cyber Crime Unit, Saint Martin Parish Sheriff’s Office, and Homeland Security Investigations.

"We're taking these sick people off of our streets. The work never ends. Great work by my Cyber Crime Unit, the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office, and Homeland Security Investigations for their hard work on this case," said Attorney General Liz Murrill.

Theriot was booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center.

His bond is pending assignment.
