Houston woman arrested by AG Murrill's Louisiana Bureau of Investigation for defrauding Medicaid program of approximately $4600

A woman from Houston was arrested by Attorney General Liz Murrill's Louisiana Bureau of Investigation for defrauding the Medicaid program of approximately $4,600.

The Louisiana Bureau of Investigation (LBI) received a criminal referral from Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) regarding allegations that Lindesay Williams, of Bell Street in Houston, a Medicaid recipient, had underreported her income and concealed her place of residence for purposes to receive Medicaid benefits.

During this investigation, LBI agents learned that in the period between April 2024 and June 2025, Williams had submitted falsified check stubs and concealed that she actually resided in Houston, TX. As a result, Williams defrauded the Medicaid program of approximately $4,600.

On Tuesday, September 23rd, agents arrested Williams pursuant to an arrest warrant issued by the 19th Judicial District Court on charges of:

  • 1 Count of LRS 14:133 – Filing False Public Records (Felony)
  • 1 Count of LRS 14:70.9 – Government Benefits Fraud (Felony)

Williams' bond information is unknown at this time.

The investigation is ongoing.
