Woman arrested by Louisiana Bureau of Investigation for Government Benefits Fraud after failing to accurately report marital status and household income
Agents with Attorney General Liz Murrill's Louisiana Bureau of Investigation arrested a woman from the Village of Noble for Government Benefits Fraud.
The Louisiana Bureau of Investigation (LBI) received a criminal referral from Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) regarding allegations that 53-year-old Sue Ann Rivers, of Buddy Road in Noble, a Medicaid recipient, had concealed her income and marital status for purposes to receive Medicaid benefits.
From October 1, 2021, through March 31, 2024, Rivers presented false information to Louisiana Department of Health on three Medicaid applications.
Rivers’ failure to accurately report marital status and household income led LDH to confirm her Medicaid eligibility during this period thus causing a loss of approximately $21,958.49.
On October 7, 2025, LBI agents booked Rivers without incident at the East Baton Rouge Parish Jail on felony charges of:
- 2 Count(s) of LRS 14:70.9 – Government Benefits Fraud
- 1 Count of LRS 14:27 (70.9) – Attempted Government Benefits Fraud
Her bond was reportedly set at $7500.
The investigation is ongoing.
*All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
