BREAKING: Final defendant in New Orleans DA carjacking case pleads guilty as charged to 3 counts of armed robbery; all suspects involved sentenced to Department of Corrections
The last defendant involved in two separate carjackings in New Orleans in October of 2023, one involving Orleans Parish District Attorney Jason Williams and his mother, and another involving a young woman, pled guilty at Orleans Criminal District Court on October 27, 2025.
Ahmad Seals pled guilty as charged to 3 counts of Armed Robbery in court.
Section H Judge Camille Buras sentenced Seals to 25 years at hard labor without benefits at the Louisiana Department of Corrections, and she designated this conviction as a crime of violence.
The other three teens involved in the carjackings, Dijohn Curtis, Amajha Curtis, and Santana Gilmore, pled guilty as charged to 3 counts of armed robbery back on June 6, 2025.
They were also sentenced today to 16 years at hard labor without benefits in the Louisiana Department of Corrections, and she also designated their convictions as crimes of violence.
“I’d like to thank my Criminal Division Director Leon Cannizzaro, New Orleans Section Chief Daniel Smart, Assistant AG Carmen Gealogo, LBI Agent Marc Amos, New Orleans Section Administrative Assistant Amanda Duhe, NOPD Sergeant Amit Bidichandani, and Louisiana State Police Sergeant Jack Uhle for their hard work in ensuring justice was done in this matter. I'd like to thank the entire New Orleans Police Department and Louisiana State Police Troop NOLA for their assistance as well. But I would particularly like to thank District Attorney Jason Williams, his mother, and the other victim, without whom we would not have been able to obtain these results. When someone is subjected to having a gun held to their face during a carjacking, it is extremely traumatizing. I appreciate their commitment to holding all the individuals responsible accountable," said Attorney General Liz Murrill.
