AG Liz Murrill's Louisiana Bureau of Investigation arrests Iota woman for Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Materials and Sexual Abuse of an Animal

Attorney General Liz Murrill's Louisiana Bureau of Investigation arrested a woman from Iota for possession of child sexual abuse materials and possession of images and videos of sexual abuse of an animal.

37-year-old Cassie Nichole John, of Cart Street in Iota, was arrested on December 4, 2025, for violations of:

  • 3 counts of LA R.S.14:81.1E(5)(a) Child sexual abuse materials under the age of thirteen (13) (Felony)
  • 7 counts of LA R.S.14:89.3 Sexual abuse of an animal (Felony)

Agents initially got a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

John was sharing the illicit images and videos via online social media platforms.

This arrest was the result of a joint investigation involving the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation Cyber Crime Unit, the Acadia Parish Sheriff’s Office, the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office, and Homeland Security Investigations.

Cassie was booked into the Acadia Parish Jail.

Her bond was set at $85,000. 

The investigation is ongoing.
