Immigration activists harass, curse, and chase AG Murrill's agents during arrest of a Chinese national accused of 150 counts of Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material
Special Agents with Attorney General Liz Murrill's Louisiana Bureau of Investigation were harassed, cursed, and chased through neighborhoods in New Orleans during the apprehension of a Chinese national accused of 150 counts of Possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material Under the Age of 13.
29-year-old Jiaxin Tian, was arrested at his home on Coliseum Street in the Touro neighborhood of New Orleans.
The arrested subject is a Chinese national on an Academic Visa since 2021.
Louisiana Bureau of Investigation Special Agents with the assistance of the New Orleans Police Department, the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office, the East Baton Rouge Parish Sheriff’s Office, Homeland Security Investigations, and the Pearl River County (MS) Sheriff’s Office executed a search warrant at his home this morning, relative to an investigation into the distribution and possession of Child Sexual Abuse Material under the age of 13.
These images and videos included children as young as toddlers being sexually assaulted.
During and after the execution of the search warrant, several anti-immigration protestors approached law enforcement both on foot and by vehicle. The protestors shouted expletives at law enforcement, activated their vehicles audible horns loudly, and made hand gestures indicating their displeasure with law enforcement activity in the area. As several officers departed the residence in Orleans Parish, they were followed by vehicles which drove erratically through civilian traffic to remain behind the law enforcement vehicles.
The public should know that we will not be deterred in our efforts to protect the community from child predators, regardless of their nationality. These law enforcement agencies were in the area to investigate and arrest a child predator and were subjected to threats and intimidation by protestors who lacked knowledge of what was actually taking place.
"Our office will investigate any attempts to harm or obstruct our agents for doing their jobs in taking child sex predators off the streets. This behavior will not be tolerated. I'd like to personally thank my LBI agents and all our law enforcement partners for their tireless dedication to protecting the children of Louisiana," said Attorney General Liz Murrill.
Upon arrest, Tian was transported to the Orleans Parish Prison for booking.
He is being charged with:
- LA R.S. 14:81.1 (Possession of) Child Sexual Abuse Material under the Age of Thirteen - 150 counts
His bond information is unknown at this time.
This investigation and the incident surrounding it is ongoing.

*All persons are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
