AG Murrill's Medicaid Fraud Control Unit secures guilty plea for Alexandria man for dragging a victim across a hallway by his wrist

Attorney General Murrill's Medicaid Fraud Control Unit secured a guilty plea for an Alexandria man for Simple Battery of Persons with Infirmities.

On January 14, 2026, Marcus Sanders, of Rampart Street in Alexandria, pled guilty as charged in the 9th JDC to one count of Simple Battery of Persons with Infirmities, a violation of La. R.S. 14:35.2.

While employed as a Direct Care Provider at Pinecrest Supports and Services Center, Sanders was seen on video dragging the victim across a hallway and into his bedroom by the wrist.

He was arrested for that incident on June 24, 2025.

After his guilty plea, Sanders was sentenced to forty days in parish prison, with credit for any time served and concurrent to any other time.

This arrest and conviction resulted from an investigation by the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit with the Louisiana Department of Justice.
