Sulphur man arrested by Louisiana Bureau of Investigation for 15 Counts of Child Sexual Abuse Material Under the Age of 13

Agents with Attorney General Liz Murrill's Louisiana Bureau of Investigation arrested a man from Sulphur on January 20, 2026.

30-year-old Benjamin Everette Bergeron, of Daigle Road in Sulphur, was arrested on US-90 in Lake Charles, for violating:

  • 15 Counts of 14:81.1 E(5)(a)-Child Sexual Abuse Material Under the Age of 13 - (Felony)

Agents got a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children to kickstart this investigation.

This arrest was a result of a joint investigation with The Louisiana Bureau of Investigation, Homeland Security Investigations, and the Calcasieu Parish Sheriff’s Office. 

Benjamin Bergeron was booked into the Calcasieu Parish Jail. 

His bond has reportedly been set at $750,000.

The investigation is ongoing.
