Former New Orleans teacher and coach previously arrested by AG Murrill's Louisiana Bureau of Investigation now facing an additional 60 counts of Unlawful Deepfakes
A former New Orleans teacher and coach who was previously arrested by AG Liz Murrill's Louisiana Bureau of Investigation on a number of charges against children has now been rearrested once again, this time for Unlawful Deepfakes.
49-year-old Benoit G. Cransac, a French national with legal residence in the United States, of Cohn Street in New Orleans, has now been arrested three times by AG Murrill's Louisiana Bureau of Investigation agents. He was already in custody at the Orleans Justice Center.
On April 1, 2026, Cransac was rearrested on:
- 60 counts of 14:73.13, Unlawful Deepfakes
Here is a timeline of our previous arrests of Cransac:
- Benoit G. Cransac (w/m 7-12-76) was arrested on January 8, 2026, for violating 22 counts of 14:81.1 Child Sexual Abuse Material. Read the news release here.
- On January 21, 2026 Benoit Cransac was rearrested on an additional 3 counts of 14:81.1 Child Sexual Abuse Material.
- On March 23, 2026 Cransac was rearrested on an additional 17 counts of 14:283B(4)- Video Voyeurism of a child under seventeen after it was found that he took photos of students inside his classroom. Read the news release here.
- Yesterday he was arrested for the 60 counts of Unlawful Deepfakes.
Cransac remains in custody at the Orleans Justice Center.
He is currently being held on a $3.57 million dollar bond for previous charges. He has not appeared for his bond setting for these new charges yet.
