AG Murrill’s LBI Arrests Violet Man on 226 Charges in Child Sexual Abuse Material Investigation
Attorney General Liz Murrill announced that the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation (LBI) arrested a Violet man for 226 counts of Child Sexual Abuse Material and Sexual Abuse of an Animal.
The suspect, 35-year-old Anthony Justin Etheredge of Violet, was identified during an investigation originating from a cybertip received from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children involving a Synchronoss account containing Child Sexual Abuse Material.
Agents identified Etheredge as the user of the account. An arrest warrant was subsequently issued out of St. Bernard Parish for 50 counts of Child Sexual Abuse Material under the age of 13 years old and 18 counts of Child Sexual Abuse Material.
On August 12, 2026, the arrest warrant was executed, and Etheredge was located and arrested in St. John Parish. Etheredge was transported to the St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office.
During a subsequent search of electronics belonging to Etheredge, agents located approximately 150 videos containing Child Sexual Abuse Material.
Based on the search, Etheredge was arrested by the St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office on the following charges:
- 150 counts of Child Sexual Abuse Material, La. R.S. 14:81.1
- 8 counts of Sexual Abuse of an Animal, La. R.S. 14:89.3
Etheredge was also booked as a fugitive from St. Bernard Parish and will be transported and booked on the outstanding warrant at a later date. The outstanding LBI warrant includes the following charges:
- 50 counts of Child Sexual Abuse Material under the age of 13 years old, La. R.S. 14:81.1(E)(5)(a)
- 18 counts of Child Sexual Abuse Material, La. R.S. 14:81.1
The arrest was the result of a joint investigation involving the Louisiana Bureau of Investigation, the St. John Parish Sheriff’s Office, the St. Charles Parish Sheriff’s Office, the Kenner Police Department, the St. Bernard Parish Sheriff’s Office, and Homeland Security Investigations.
Etheredge was booked into the St. John Parish Correctional Center.
Bond information is not available at this time.
The investigation remains ongoing.
