BATON ROUGE, LA - In recognition of Martin Luther King, Jr. Day -
Louisiana Attorney General Jeff Landry issued the following statement:
"Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. once said: 'Each individual has certain basic rights that are neither conferred by nor derived from the state; to discover where they came from it is necessary to move back behind the dim midst of eternity, for they are God-given.' On this day of remembrance, I pray all Louisianans remember what Dr. King taught us: that we are all created equally in the image of God and that we must measure people by the content of their character, not the color of their skin."
