Karen’s Latest Complaint: An Arrest Warrant from AG Liz Murrill’s Office for Medicaid Fraud

On October 28, 2026, 44-year-old Karen Aime Morris, of Mack Cemetary Road in Walker, was arrested on the following charges:

  • R.S. 14:70.9 A (4) Government Benefits Fraud (3 counts)

  • R.S. 14:70.9 A (5) Government Benefits Fraud (3 counts)

  • R.S. 14:132 Injuring Public Records (3 counts)

LBI received a criminal referral from the Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) regarding allegations that Karen Morris, a Medicaid recipient, had underreported her income for purposes of receiving Medicaid benefits.

During the investigation, LBI agents learned that between October 2023 and September 2025, Morris provided false information to LDH by concealing her marital status and true household income. As a result, Morris defrauded the Medicaid program of more than $52,000.

On Wednesday, October 28, 2026, LBI agents arrested Morris on a warrant issued by the 19th Judicial District Court for Government Benefits Fraud and Injuring Public Records. Morris was booked without incident at the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison.

Bond information is unknown. The investigation remains ongoing.
